Personal Training Initial Session

I have been asked how a personal training session works.   I totally understand if you are a complete beginner and are able to complete the session. 

Here is what you can expect for your session.

Warm up

Personal training is 55 minute sessions and starts with a 5 – 10 minute warm up.   If it is cold in winter, I would suggest you do a 10 minute warm up.   The gym is open for you coming early to warm up.

The gym is located in the center of Kitsilano Vancouver.

Warm up has two components.  One is traditional cardio warm up to get your heart rate higher than the normal.  

Then we do a dynamic stretch to get your body fully ready for the session.

Resistance Training

30 – 40 minute of resistance training.  If this is your first time in the gym,  don’t worry.  You will learn from the basic movement.    Also Intensity will be varied depending on your experience.

5 – 10 minute of static stretching.  Depending on your body condition such as tight muscles, posture deviations,  we may spend 10 minute of a partner stretching as well as mobility work.
