Crunch feet on a chair  12 - 15reps  3 sets
Plank saw with cloth 25 - 30 sec 3sets  (your house will be clean, too)
Deadbug 30 - 40 sec 3sets
Crunch 12 - 15reps 3sets

If you want to train your side of the abs, I beli If you want to train your side of the abs,  I believe the side plank is one of the safest. (I don't think Russian twist is a great choice and I don't like it for safety reasons).

If you get bored by doing normal side planks,  you can add some movement.  These are definitely more challenging than the normal one.

Legendary judo athlete Shohei Ono who is a two tim Legendary judo athlete Shohei Ono who is a two time Olympic champion (Rio and Tokyo), trains for grip strength like this one.  I might as well try this to see how hard it is.  I didn't have judo-gi, but a towel works quite well for this training.  My grip strength was dead after 2 attempts.  Amazingly Shohei holds this for about a minute.  I couldn't do that for long (30 sec or so)

When you train any parts of a body, you need to understand which part you are working on.  One thing I would like to correct when using an abroller is keep your butt in all the time and knees to head are aligned.  I see many people butt is sticking out when you roll back, which means you are resting and doing nothing.  If you can't perform that way,  just use a swissball instead.  That benefits you more.

Birddog targets glutes, side of abs, lower back as Birddog targets glutes, side of abs, lower back as well as upper back muscle when some weights are added.

It is a great exercise to start with when recovering from back injury.  It is relatively safe and I haven't seen anyone feel pain by doing this exercise.

But Are you performing right?

Using a ball placed on a lower back and not dropping the ball can make you understand you are in the right position.  Also do it slowly and control the movement instead of doing it quickly (I have seen this everywhere and you are killing the purpose of doing this exercise).

There are some reasons we should always work on yo There are some reasons we should always work on your back more than front.

• We tend to sit down and use a laptop / cellphone which creates a hunching position.
• We don't often use back muscles in our daily life.
• Even many sports don't necessarily use back muscles.
• Bad posture leads to being susceptible to shoulder injury.

Just another way to do back exercise.  Using a rope though, requires lots of grip strength, so I love mixing it with other row exercises.  It would be a great way to learn how to climb a rope if you are too big or weak.

Just doing 1000 sit ups is not a smart answer for that which I used to do.  Once your abs are engaged, they are used by doing any other exercises such as squats, deadlift, pushups, pullups and so on. 

 This day, we trained her abs with supersetting lower body exercises.
Plank saw 30sec 3sets
Bodyweight squat 3 reps, squat jumps 3reps times 3 3sets
Crab walk 12reps 3sets

Workout smart to get strong!!
