Why Functional Training?
Single joint exercises are often done on machines or equipment in the gym that work one particular muscle or small muscle group, and often move one joint. When on a machine, you miss out on working many more muscles than if you did a similar exercise without a machine.
If you want to work out in a way that mimics the activity you do every day, then you need to do multi-joint movement and functional training.
